SHORT FILM: “Imperfection”

I edited this film soon after graduating from film school in 2002. Shot on Super 16mm, the film tells the story of a man coming to terms with the impending birth of his first child; the baby would mostly likely inherit a debilitating illness that had caused his mother great suffering while he was a child. Much of the story was shaped in the editing; I wove flashbacks of his youth while he narrated his memories in present time. I felt that the seamless effect reinforced the themes of loss, growth, and renewed hope.
